What counts toward a limit — and what never does
Sends count.
Your monthly allowance is emails sent. That's the only meter running.
Unsubscribed contacts do not count.
Someone leaves your list, they leave your bill too — immediately, on every plan.
Bounced contacts do not count.
Dead addresses are suppressed automatically and never billed as part of your list.
At the send limit, sending pauses — that's all.
You get an upgrade prompt. There are no overage charges, and nothing bills you by surprise.
Per send vs per contact, side by side
| What is being compared | Sendora | Per-contact tools |
|---|---|---|
| What the bill is based on | Emails sent | Contacts stored |
| Unsubscribed contacts billed | Never | Still billed |
| Bounced contacts billed | Never | Still billed |
The mechanism is the whole difference. We quote one competitor price, at the one volume it was published for. See the Mailchimp comparison
Plans, side by side
Same rows, every column. The tinted column is the one most lists land on.
At the send limit, sending pauses with an upgrade prompt. No plan bills per contact, and no plan charges overages.
The questions this model raises
Sending pauses and you get an upgrade prompt. Nothing fails silently, nothing bills extra. Your next month's allowance resets on your billing date, or you can move up a plan and keep sending the same day.
No. Unsubscribed and bounced contacts never count toward any limit, on any plan. They stay on your suppression list so you never mail them again — but they're never part of what you're billed for.
Yes, on Starter and above. You add the DNS records we give you, we verify them, and your campaigns send from your domain. The Free plan sends from a shared Sendora domain.
You export everything — contacts, custom fields, consent records, suppression list — as CSV before you go. Your suppression list is yours too; it took work to build and it shouldn't be hostage to a subscription.
Yes, up or down, from your billing settings. The new send allowance applies straight away and billing is prorated against what you've already paid — there's no exit fee and no minimum term.
